Job Summary: 

The Marketing & Communications Specialist is responsible for content curation/creation & copywriting for digital signage, customer and employee newsletters, social media, and traditional marketing collateral. They also handle overall social media community management, recruitment marketing, and maintain an internal online store front. The successful applicant will have at least 2-3 years of professional marketing experience. The role is diverse and provides a lot of day to day variety. The ideal candidate will be well organized, take initiative, be strategic, have a sense of urgency, and can deliver a high quality of work.

Qualifications:

In order to be qualified, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum 2-3 years marketing experience in a reputable business.
  • A strong copywriting skillet for marketing & communications is required for newsletters, website, social media, and print ads.
  • Experience with WordPress CMS is preferred.
  • Diploma or degree in Marketing, Advertising or Communications preferred.
  • Be well organized and able to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Experience with Office 365, Adobe (such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Canva, WordPress, Mailchimp, and all leading social platforms.
  • Be able to travel occasionally for shows & company events.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing the online store and company website updates through the WordPress CMS.
  • Create content calendars for all platforms and proactively compile required content from internal/external sources.
  • Find stories and share it with a clear CTA linked to our conversion goals.
  • Manage social media communities, creating engagement and growing our follower counts.
  • Manage multiple job boards in support of recruitment.
  • Coordinate with non-profits, chamber of commerce, and other groups to manage corp. donations & sponsorship programs, indigenous relations, the mining industry
  • Package up boxes, label items, do up occasional shipment paperwork, count inventory, pickup orders, tradeshow prep work.
