Beyond the Delivery at Bandstra: Spotless Uniforms

For more than a century, Spotless Uniform has been built around one core principle: service.

What began in Edmonton in the early 1920s has evolved into the largest independent uniform and linen provider in Western Canada, serving customers across British Columbia and Alberta while remaining 100 percent Canadian owned and operated.

“My great-grandfather started a plant in Edmonton in the early ’20s,” says Shaun Heighington, President and CEO of Spotless Uniform. “Since then, we’ve grown and consolidated operations over generations.”

Today, the fifth-generation family business provides everything from industrial coveralls and fire-resistant workwear to restaurant linens, chef coats, janitorial products, and uniform rental programs.

“We call ourselves the service people..We stand by our service, and Bandstra helps make sure we keep that reputation because they have those same values.”

As Spotless continues expanding into new markets, transportation partnerships play an increasingly important role by allowing growth without immediately investing in additional facilities.

“Bandstra allows us to target new markets,” Heighington explains. “It’s vital that we have a solid partner that can help us provide our services to remote regions.” He credits Bandstra’s responsiveness and shared family-business values as key strengths.

“If we have a challenging shipment or need to make an adjustment, it’s always, ‘Let’s figure out how we can do it,’” he says. “Bandstra has been that rock for us.”

Beyond operations and growth, Heighington says company culture remains one of Spotless Uniform’s greatest strengths.

The organization employs a diverse workforce and fosters an environment where employees support one another, learn together, and build lasting relationships. “I leave here every day feeling rewarded by the team,” says Heighington. “We’re a family here.”

That sense of community — combined with innovation, service, and adaptability — has helped carry Spotless Uniform through five generations of leadership.

And as the company continues growing across Western Canada, one thing remains unchanged: a commitment to keeping customers safe, supported, and served.
