In Terrace, BC, Jaecen Aspa, owner of Fountain Tire, knows firsthand how important reliable transportation is to keeping operations running smoothly — especially when serving customers across Northern British Columbia.
Jaecen has worked at the Terrace location since 2013 and became the owner in 2017, continuing the legacy of the business after his father-in-law, who previously owned the store. Jaecen didn’t originally plan on entering the tire business. After years of encouragement from his father-in-law, he eventually decided to give it a try — and never looked back.
Today, the shop handles an incredible range of tires, from the smallest equipment to massive industrial machines.
"We do everything from wheelbarrow to rock truck — tires that are four inches tall to tires that are seven feet tall"
Working in the tire industry means no two days are the same. From worn-out highway tires to damaged heavy equipment tires, the team sees a wide range of challenges — and occasionally some surprising discoveries. "We see all sorts of foreign objects in tires… I’ve seen chicken bones, forks — all sorts of neat things."

“Bandstra is a pretty intricate part of our business. They deliver the tires to us and help get tires to isolated places like mines up north.”
For businesses serving remote areas in Northern BC, transportation is critical. Bandstra plays a key role in helping Fountain Tire move products both into and out of Terrace.
The company regularly delivers tires to the store from hubs such as Edmonton and Kelowna, while also helping distribute tires to remote locations including Dease Lake and Iskut.
For Jaecen, one of the biggest advantages of working with Bandstra is reliability. “One of the greatest things about Bandstra is they’re almost always on time. When they say they’re going to deliver, they deliver.” In industries where timing matters, dependable service helps businesses stay productive and meet their customers’ needs.
“Keeping it in the community is super important. We’re all employing people and contributing to the economy in Terrace.”
By working together, local businesses strengthen the region’s economy and help support the communities they serve.
